Thom: Could we have a peek at the gold mine?

I will have some kind of composit image in a few days. Its a small wooden group of buildings and a tipple with convayor a bit of tin and tar paper with battons. The head frame is not exposed. I might change that if there's interest. there is a lot of lumber (paper)

Personally, I would love to test build this crane. My gold mine is near completion on the J&RG but this one looks just plain fun and a challenge!

This one has been a challenge. I'd let you try it but as I test build, I've ben re-designing it so all the final pieces don't exist yet. Being a steel-worker, I have a lot of experience with cranes and Thom doesn't have any real frame of reference, just what he's seen. I've been kind of a pain in the butt to Thom, who just doesn't have any experience with this kind of thing and I am being kind of a stickler for what works in the real world. I need to lighten up!

So I guess this explains why I could not get the steel parts to line up on the early version I purchased from Thom. Not only do they not fit together, but in N scale are virtually impossible for me to assemble the side "T" braces to the vertical webs. There is just no way I can fold a tiny bit of paper 90°, then 180°, then 90° and repeat it a gazillion times.
