Teaser???

On the discussion page we have been talking about new kits.  You have already seen three of the four I am trying to get up before the end of the year.  You asked for a teaser, well here’s a teaser of the fourth, The Brick Machine Shop.  I haven’t even seen a final version of the light houses yet, that we have mentioned, so that will have to wait for a bit.

Dave

PS Sorry for the messy workbenck.

Those large windows demand an interior. Any chance of that? I would love to build this one ... the interior alone, if well done, could be a contest quality model. Excellent job!

Very Impressive. Looking forward to this being available for download!

Jim, I never considered an interior because you usually can't see through most industrial windows. I won't rule it out though. Any ideas you guys have are always welcome.

This kit is also a great partner to several of our other brick industrial buildings. I think it will work especially well with the "Turbine House", "Plant #2" and "Habbakers" I have a dark brick version of "Cream City" and a brick version of "The Mercantile" Come to think of it they would make a great little "Brick and Mortar Vol 2"
Brother and I have been thinking about offering smaller collections of say 3 or 4 kits on a disk for $20. Any one want to comment?

This kit is crying out to be called "1st National Bank"

I really like John's suggestion about First National Bank. That will give you an opportunity to design windows with bars on them. Maybe a fancier stonework entrance? What'da think Bro?

We could do that i guess.

I really like the idea of posting individual new models for immediate download and then gathering several together and offering them together on a disc. Keep them coming!

Like the idea of a smaller sized disc sounds good,as it might appeal to younger members as to well as people on limiting budgets, got to be worth a try.dave and Thom.

for the first budget disk we are going to mix it up with some old and new. Here's what we're thinking. the new small machine shop. A brick version of our popular mercantile,( the triangular one) The Ice house, which was one of our first kits but hasn't been available on disk before.
And "Cream city": which is super flexible and will be available in light and dark brick.
plus the usual extras. man I think thats a deal for $20.
i want to follow that up with a mostly wood collection. Some new small sheds, The "music store" "Kirks books" and somee thing else but I'm not sure what.

Will the new budget discs be made available in all scales? I want Cream City in O scale, as well as the Ice House and a brick Mercantile.

The "Budget Disk" sounds good but why not a "Budget Download" Bundle. It would seem less expensive on your end and available faster to us. I have wanted the Cream City kit to bash into something else for sometime now. An instant Download Bundle with Cream City on it is just the nudge I need to buy it and the others. This isn't to say I would not buy the Disk but a download gets to my workbench much faster.

I would also like to see Cream City and others available with no names on them and of course a reference size / scale.

If you go with the Bundle approach maybe you could do a "Bundle of the Month" sale. Gather a few items each month and offer them at a sale price. Everything is sold as a download so your expense stays low and we get the new items instantly.

Thanks.

PS. More train stuff please.

All great ideas. I'm not sure how we would implement the budget downloads but i will look into if it's possible.
Cream city already comes with and without signage. The O scale version is coming along but be aware it will be on 8.5 X 14 paper. even on that size paper it fills the sheet almost edge to edge and there will be some splicing. It's a giant. one of the bigger problems are the big flat roofs and the interior braces which all have to be broken up into parts. It just cant be helped.
Most of the models mentioned are already complete.

I love miniature artworks. All the details are there plus the right colors and angles.
