Western Buildings

In the discussion area it was mentioned that more western buildings would be welcome. Our response was that there will be more and that there are several appropriate buildings like the “Silver City mine shed and the whistle stop.

Bill Laird has sent us a couple of pix of his conversion, whistlestop to telegraph office.  A good idea and a nice clean build.

What a neat idea! My compliments to Bill! I just built my own version of the whistle stop for a new station at Mesita on my layout. I installed it the day before MR came to photograph the layout. They took pictures of it, so maybe it will appear in the article.

Hey Bill, what a neat touch, like the Western Union signs, can i ask where you got them from,it also reminds me of how versatile this kit is,i did mine as an abandonded structure, when it first came out,as i had seen a larger freight office model in a Model Railroader from the 50's,this gave me the idea to make it abandonded, thanks for showing us your work,Marc

Marc,

As an adjunct to model railroading I have been digitally collecting signs for years. Some I photograph myself when I find something interesting and some I "capture" either scanning from print or copying off the internet. I currently have a collection of about 2500 images. I use them extensively on structures that I build.

A home that has mountains as background has always been one of the things that I like with photos. Very clean and neat to look. Nice idea as well.
