A little tease of whats on the drawing board.

Being from a big city in the flat Midwest, we grew up on a certain style of industrial building. Working in Philly, I get a sense of the East coast style. The buildings are much narrower and the materials more eccentric. Lots of stone foundations mixed with brick and concrete. The brick has it’s own look too. I was able to get great samples of 200 year old colonial brick.

As I ride the SEPTA rail system around town I get to see the back sides of a lot of distinctive industries. This has been inspiring and I am creating lots of new textures and flats. I thought I’d share a couple with you all. Hope you like what we are doing.

You asked if we like what you are doing, the answer for all us 1930 and 1940 urban buffs is a large "Yes". I've been building for about 20 years, and mostly Downtown Deco stuff because of the depression era buildings thy offer. Never really hooked up with card modeling because I looked at some really bad examples. That is until I came across your models somewhere on the internet. It sounds like you are not really into posting pictures on your site, but I would really like to see what other modelers have done with your superb models. Regards...Bill Grady

Bill, thanks for the kind words. I've always liked the urban brick and gritty streets. It's where my brothers and I grew up and that look is ingrained in our youth. Also a significant number of those buildings are still around so even contemporary modelers can find places for them. We get a lot of pressure to do more modern structures and we do some but they just don't fire the imagination.
I have to disagree with you on the pictures though. Its true we don't have a proper gallery but just looking through the blog will highlight hundreds of examples of work from our builders.
We have a great community of builders here. people who have chosen to work with cardstock. It's become one of their go to materials because of all its positive construction qualities. We love creating new kits. Wile most other companies put out one or two kits a year we might do a dozen, because we never stop enjoying the process of interacting with the modeling community here. We make a new design and within a week we see it built in ways we never imagined. I always try to share the best of them here. It's like a conversation. one I look forward to every day. I hope we'll here more form you and that you will share pix of your work with this community.
